Acquisition
Beastmaster is acquired after completing the Karnak 500 and escaping the Karnak Castle.
In the Fiesta
Beastmaster is a class that demands extra game knowledge for its unique !Catch mechanic that almost completely defines it. !control is a good ability for causing some random encounters to self destruct (shield dragons in World 2 and Prototypes in World 1 come to mind). !Calm is bugged in some version of the game allowing Beastmaster to shut down Omega for an easy victory. !Catch and !Release are Beastmaster's signature abilities that allow it to trivialize many fights depending on how far out of the player's way they're willing to go. By learning !Catch on all characters many bosses with less than 39996 HP can be instantly annihilated by catching 4 of a specific monster, or completely neutralized with instant death or a status condition. Whips, weapons unique to the Beastmaster, allow it to safely attack from the back row without fear of retaliation, and they even paralyze certain types of monsters. Beastmaster is a knowledge intensive class, but it has one of the highest ceilings of the Fiesta cast because of it.
Notable synergies
- Time Mage and its line of Gravity spells make it easier to lower monsters to the correct HP to catch them without killing them.
- Any class that passes a boosted magic stat can combine with Beastmaster to improve its Flame Whip.
- Thief can vastly improve the likelihood of stealing a Dragon Whip from Shinryu, granting access to Beastmaster's most powerful weapon (after averaging out Firaga from the Flame Whip)
